Teresa Borda Cuba, a beacon of love and wisdom, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2025, in
Wake Forest, North Carolina. Born on October 15, 1936, in Cusco, Peru, Teresa's journey of 89 years was marked by her unwavering faith, intellectual pursuits, and the joy she found in the arts.
Teresa was predeceased by her beloved parents, Eufracio Cuba Muniz and Concepion Mendoza, her devoted husband Santos, her caring brother Rolando Mendoza, and her cherished son-in-law Richardo Bregante. Her legacy continues through her loving family: her daughters Frini Valera and her husband Jaime, Victoria Grant and her husband Frederick, Carolina Borda, Magaly Bregante, Teresa Perron and her husband John, Sonia Solorzano and her husband Julio, Ida Cuadros and her husband Lucho; her son Igor Borda and his wife Carmen; her brother Hugo Mendoza and his wife Loren; her adored grandchildren Ivonne, Ingrid, Justina, Kilila, Alexandra, Chaska, Charlotte, Alexandra, Eric, and Ian; and her treasured great-grandchildren Irina, Itcel, Liam, Mateo, and Adrian.
Teresa's passion for education was evident throughout her life. As a dedicated teacher, she inspired countless students. Her commitment to education did not wane when she immigrated to the United States 29 years ago with her family. Instead, she continued to advocate for learning and personal growth within her community.
A devout Catholic, Teresa's faith was the cornerstone of her existence. She lived her life as a testament to her beliefs, embodying the virtues of compassion and charity. Her strong-minded nature was complemented by her intelligence, making her a respected figure among those who knew her.
Teresa's interests were as rich and varied as her personality. She found solace in classical music and the beauty of singing. Her love for reading opened worlds of imagination and understanding, while her appreciation for the opera spoke to her deep connection with the arts. Museums and botanical gardens were among her favorite places to visit, providing her with endless inspiration and tranquility.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Teresa will remember her as a loving matriarch. Her presence was a gift to all, and her memory will continue to be cherished by her family, and all who were touched by her grace and kindness.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, from 10:30am to 12:30pm at Bright Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1pm at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.
