Teresa G. Eden, age 70, of Gallatin, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Highpoint Health Ascension Saint Thomas in Gallatin, after a short illness. She was born on September 30, 1954, in Gallatin to the late Ruby Estelle (Rodgers) Eden and Thomas C. Eden.
A 1972 graduate of Gallatin High School, Teresa continued her education at Volunteer State Community College and Western Kentucky University before completing her degree at Middle Tennessee State University. She went on to dedicate more than 30 years of service in payroll at Sumner Regional Medical Center, where her reliability and professionalism were deeply valued.
Teresa was a free spirit who lived life to the beat of her own drum. She loved science fiction and a good mystery, had a passion for rock and roll, and adored Marvin the Martian. Her “wicked” cackle of a laugh was as infectious as her sassy humor. Dependable, trustworthy, and unique to the core, Teresa cherished her close bond with her mother, enjoyed the companionship of her beloved dog Tony, and found joy in living a simpler life. Though she had no children of her own, she lovingly celebrated the milestones of friends’ and family’s children, sharing their stories and photos with heartfelt affection.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, H. E. Rodgers Sr. and Nora H. (Craighead) Rodgers, as well as Thomas Ransom Eden and Willie Elizabeth Eden. She is survived by loving cousins, extended family, and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.
Teresa’s unique spirit and deep love for others will be truly missed. A graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Safe Place for Animals, Paws Angels Dog Rescue, or the Gallatin Public Library of Sumner County.
Sumner Funeral & Cremation is entrusted with the arrangements..
A gathering to celebrate Teresa’s life will be held on Tuesday, September 30, from 4:00–6:00 PM at the Hampton Inn, 980 Village Green Crossing, Gallatin. This date is especially meaningful, as it would have also been her birthday. Nothing fancy—just light refreshments, sharing stories, and time together. No agenda, no formalities, simply the way we believe Teresa would want it: simple and full of love.
