Teresa Elizabeth Huwel, affectionately known as "Terri," passed away peacefully at her home on December 3, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on February 1, 1948, in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was the beloved daughter of the late Thomas Eugene Anderson and the late Joan Ann Anderson (nee' Broderick).
Terri enjoyed a commendable career spanning various roles, including her time at Ohio National Life Insurance Company, where she met her husband, David Huwel. She also contributed her talents to Maury's Tiny Cove and Procter & Gamble before ultimately serving as the Director at Old St. Mary's Pregnancy Center. Her work was a reflection of her caring nature, which extended far beyond the workplace. She was a devoted Catholic who attended Mass daily and was a staunch advocate for the most vulnerable, particularly the unborn.
Known as a wonderful and comforting mother with a great sense of humor, Terri leaves behind her loving husband, David Huwel, and their cherished children: Tim, Chris, Ann (Scott), Brian (Courtney), Joe (Holly), Mike (Amy), Greg, Tom, and Dave (Jillian). Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Sam, Edon, Tyler, Sydney, Jayne, Jack, Charlotte, Violet, Emily, Madeline, and Alexander.
She attended Our Lady of the Visitation Grade School, Mother of Mercy High School, and Thomas More College. Terri's life philosophy was deeply rooted in faith and the power of prayer, a belief she willingly shared with her family. Terri had a deep love for music, especially The Beatles. In fact, she attended a Paul McCartney concert shortly before her passing. She found joy in watching sports and participated in fantasy baseball and fantasy football leagues with her family, reminding us all of the importance of togetherness, shared moments, and perhaps just a little healthy competition!
Terri is preceded in death by her grandson, Gabriel Michael Huwel, whose memory will forever be intertwined with the love she shared with her family.
Terri's family recall her frequently saying, "God will provide," but she was never talking about material things. Rather, her focus was on what should be most instrumental in our lives - prayer. Terri prayed for her family every day, and there is no doubt it helped many get through sad, dark times. Terri's example has given her family the greatest perspective on life and what is important: "We are important to each other, to our family, to our friends, and most importantly to God. We feel certain that she is looking down and smiling on us from Heaven."
Visitation will take place on December 11, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dalbert, Woodruff & Isenogle Funeral Home, located at 2880 Boudinot Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45238. A Mass will be celebrated on December 12, 2025, at St. Martin of Tours, starting at 10:30 AM.
As we remember Terri, let us carry forth her unwavering spirit of love, generosity, and faith, holding dear the lessons she imparted and the lives she touched. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she loved and in the many lives she inspired.
