Teresa Lochner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Woodlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery - Lacey on Feb. 16, 2026.
Teresa Ann Lochner was born on September 16, 1954, in Sunnyside, Washington, to her loving

parents, Theron Jennings Lochner and Ella Mae Lochner. From the very beginning, Teresa

brought light and warmth into the lives of those around her-a light that continued to shine

brightly throughout her life.

Teresa attended Sunnyside High School and, over the years, made her home in several care

communities across Washington State, including Avalon Health and Rehabilitation Center in

Pasco, Benson Heights Rehabilitation Center in Kent, Park Ridge Rehabilitation Center in

Shoreline, Rocky Bay Health Care Facility in Gig Harbor, and finally in Olympia, where she

lived for the past six years until her passing. In each place she resided, Teresa formed meaningful

friendships and left a lasting impression on caregivers, staff, and fellow residents alike.

Teresa found joy in life's simple but beautiful pleasures. She loved doing arts and crafts, taking

pride in the creativity of her work. She looked forward to lively games of bingo with friends and

cherished every opportunity to celebrate birthdays surrounded by laughter and cake. A devoted

Seattle Seahawks fan, Teresa cheered faithfully for her team each season. She treasured her daily

coffee, enjoyed long phone conversations with friends and family, and delighted in watching

Deal or No Deal, especially to see her favorite host, Howie Mandel.

Despite the challenges she faced in life, Teresa carried herself with remarkable resilience, grace,

and an unwaveringly positive spirit. She had a gift for laughter-both sharing it and inspiring it

in others. Her smile could brighten a room, and her upbeat outlook reminded everyone around

her to find joy in each day. Teresa's kindness, humor, and loving heart will be deeply missed but

forever remembered.

Teresa is survived by her beloved mother, Ella Mae Lochner; her brothers, Kenny and Jim

Lochner; and her sister, Sandra McDowell. She was preceded in death by her father, Theron

Jennings Lochner, who undoubtedly welcomed her home with open arms.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate Teresa's life will be held on March 6, 2026, at 1:00

p.m. at St. Benedict's Episcopal Church, 910 Bowker St. SE, Lacey, WA 98503. A reception

will follow the service, and all who knew and loved Teresa are warmly invited to attend and

share in fellowship and remembrance.

A Loving Note from the Family

Our dear Teresa was a precious gift in our lives. Her laughter, her smile, and her gentle spirit

touched each of us in ways words cannot fully express. She taught us about perseverance, about

choosing joy even in difficult circumstances, and about the power of a simple phone call, a

shared cup of coffee, or a heartfelt laugh.

We are profoundly grateful to the caregivers, friends, and communities who loved and supported

Teresa throughout her life. Thank you for seeing her light and for helping it shine so brightly.

Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we take comfort in knowing that Teresa's joy lives on in

every memory we hold and every smile we share in her honor. She will always be loved, always

remembered, and forever missed.

Terri and her family were our neighbors in Sunnyside. As young kids, we spent time together playing with Barbies, doing crafts and just hanging out together. She was a great friend growing up and I remember all our fun times. May she rest in peace. Condolences to her great family. Marlene Maling Hale
