Teresa C. Moreno, a cherished matriarch, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025, in Green Valley, Arizona, at the age of 86. She was born on May 20, 1938, in Moctezuma, Sonora, Mexico. Teresa's life exemplified unwavering strength and a profound love for her family.
Teresa began her career at Tanias 33 then later becoming a devoted homemaker. Amongst her proudest accomplishments was becoming a United States Citizen.
She was full of energy and warmth. Her laughter was infectious, and her sense of humor made any moment more enjoyable. She found joy in cooking homemade meals for her family and spending time in her garden. She tended to her plants with the same care and dedication she gave to her loved ones.
Family meant everything to her and she cherished every moment spent with them. She loved her dogs and listening to Vicente Fernandez. She was a faithful Catholic and attended Mass regularly.
Teresa is survived by her children: Rene Moreno (Alicia), Cecilia Amador (Larry Flaherty), and Francisca Moreno; her grandchildren: Rene Romero Moreno, Jr., Victoria M. Doyle, Felipe Moreno, Jose Moreno, Jesus Moreno, and Martin Amador; 11 great-grandchildren; her sister, Socorro Arvayo; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever hold her memory dear.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Adalberto Leyva Moreno; four children; and her siblings.
Visitation will be held on March 5, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Martinez Funeral Chapels in Tucson. A Rosary will follow at 10:00 AM. A burial taking place at Holy Hope Cemetery at 12:00 PM. The family invites all who knew and loved Teresa to come together in remembrance of her life and the joyous moments shared.
