Teresa F. Nail, 66, of Centralia passed away Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Evansville, IN. She was born on February 6, 1959, in Imperial, Nebraska, the daughter of Oscar and Eunice (Graves) Stretch. She married the love of her life, Stephen Nail in Longmont, CO in 1984, they shared 40 wonderful years of marriage. Both Teresa and Stephen were grateful for mutual friends who brought them together, and Teresa's heart warmed every time she remembered the wonderful long distance letters Stephen wrote. He preceded her in death on December 10, 2024.
Survivors include her beloved family, her children, Amber Nail of Centralia, and Derrick Nail of Centralia; siblings, Vern Stretch, Lyle Stretch, Jerry Stretch, and Wanda Dickenson; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and special friends.
Along with her husband Stephen, Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Eunice Stretch; and her sister, Beverly Stretch.
Teresa greeted customers with a warm smile while working at Pop N' Go, movie store in Centralia, and in many retail stores in the area. She found great fulfillment in her job for Kaskaskia Workshop, especially rolling up her sleeves to help her clients with their various housekeeping duties. Teresa was a faithful member of 161 Church of Christ in Centralia, where she was a tremendous help to her husband, Stephen's ministry there. She cherished her supportive church family, and took every opportunity to show the love of Jesus that was given to her to each of them. She enjoyed shopping, sewing, and solving word puzzles. Teresa was faithful, kind, generous, compassionate, and will always be remembered for the way she easily made everyone feel special and loved.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia is privileged to be assisting the family of Teresa Nail with arrangements.
