Teresa Jane Powers, age 69, of Fenwick, Michigan, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 3, 1955, to Chauncy and Emma Hopkins.
Teresa married the love of her life, James Powers, on March 8, 1975. Together, they were blessed with three children: Tracie Wright of Lowell, Jennifer Mathis of Ionia, and Zachariah Powers of Perrinton. Teresa was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found the greatest joy in spending time with her nine grandchildren: Jacob Powers, Britany Smart, Matthew Swan, Tatsiana Hammett, Brieann Ralston, Kailey Hammett, Danielle Reynard, Zachariah Powers Jr, Logan Powers and twelve great-grandchildren.
A woman of deep faith, Teresa's love for God was evident in all she did. She lived her life with a spirit of kindness, compassion, and grace, always giving thanks to the Lord for her family, her blessings, and the moments she held dear. Her love for music, trips to the casino, collecting rocks, getting tattoos, and visits to the Great Lakes, where she felt a connection to God's creation, were some of her most cherished pastimes.
Teresa was preceded in death by her husband, James Powers; her parents, Chauncy and Emma Hopkins; and her brothers, Barry Hopkins, Gary Hopkins, and Perry Hopkins.
Though she has been called home to be with the Lord, her family finds comfort in knowing that she is at peace, embraced by God's loving arms. Her legacy of love and faith will forever live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
May Teresa rest in peace, surrounded by the love of God, until we are reunited again in His eternal kingdom.
