Teresa U Quesada

Teresa Ubelina Quesada (née Martinez Dosal), age 87, was born on October 15, 1938, in Havana, Cuba. Teresa arrived in the United States on April 28, 1960, entering through Miami, Florida. She proudly became a naturalized United States citizen on August 19, 1968, in Jersey City, New Jersey-an accomplishment that reflected her determination and resilience.

Teresa was part of a large and loving family. She was the beloved daughter of Zeida Dosal Galvez and Salvador Martinez, and sister to Guillermo Martinez Dosal (deceased), Maura Martinez Dosal (deceased), Sixto Martinez Dosal, Amparo Martinez Dosal, Nelson (Papo) Martinez Dosal, Maria del Pilar Martinez Dosal, Enrique Martinez Dosal, Zeida (Zeidita) Martinez Dosal, and Rolando Martinez.

As she lived her life marked by faith, strength, devotion to family, hard work, and laughter, her spirit always left an unforgettable impression on everyone she met. For more than 45 years, Teresa touched countless lives through her work as a seamstress, a profession she approached with care, skill, and pride, knowing her work impacted lives beyond the cloth itself. Her talented hands created countless garments, and for a time, she also crafted beautiful wedding veils, contributing to some of life's most joyful celebrations. Later in life, she continued her dedication to caring for others by obtaining her Personal Care Aide certification through the New York State Department of Health, Office of Medicaid Management, on June 7, 1999, and worked as a Personal Care Aide thereafter.

Teresa also had a feisty, "no-nonsense, not one to be played with" personality, yet she was loving at the same time. Known for her quick wit, and sharp sense of humor, everyone she encountered was drawn to her because of her loving nature that emanated from her at all times. Anyone who spent even a few minutes in her presence felt her warmth. People consistently fell in love with her instantly, drawn to her beautiful smile, warm spirit, and wonderful laugh-a laugh her son lovingly says lit up a room.

Teresa delighted in life's everyday pleasures. She loved watching telenovelas, El Show de Walter Mercado, and Sábado Gigante, and she faithfully played her lottery numbers without fail. Music was a constant companion and source of joy in her life. She especially loved Beny Moré, along with Willy Chirino, Celina y Reutilio, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Celia Cruz, Orquesta Aragón, El Gran Combo, Pérez Prado, Compay Segundo, and Luis Miguel, whose romantic boleros held a special place in her heart.

Teresa went home to be with her Lord peacefully on Sunday, December 21, 2025, in Elmhurst, New York. She was predeceased by her husband, Jorge Luis Quesada, Sr., who passed away in 2002. Teresa was a very loving and doting mother to her only loving and devoted son, Jorge Luis Quesada, Jr., who she leaves behind to continue her legacy. To also continue her legacy, she leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Linda Teresa Quesada, Laura Reneé Quesada, Sydney Nichole Quesada, and Cristían Santiago Quesada. She was also a proud and loving great-grandmother to Alaina (Lainy) Janese Boyd, Reyne Ann A'mor Shiver, Skye Ann A'mor Cash, and Messiyah Ashad Cash, and she found great joy in knowing that another great-grandchild is expected on April 11, 2026. Teresa also leaves behind a host of cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, colleagues and friends.

Above all, Teresa will be remembered as a woman of unwavering faith, strength, warmth, humor, and deep love for her family. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her. While we will miss her deeply and cherish every memory we made together, we find solace in knowing she is with our Lord and Savior and has found her true home in heaven. We celebrate a life well-lived and find comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the arms of her Savior, where her memory can be a treasure for us all.

Teresa Ubelina Quesada (de soltera Martínez Dosal), a la edad de 87 años, nació el 15 de octubre de 1938 en La Habana, Cuba. Teresa llegó a los Estados Unidos el 28 de abril de 1960, entrando por Miami, Florida. Con gran orgullo, se convirtió en ciudadana naturalizada de los Estados Unidos el 19 de agosto de 1968, en Jersey City, Nueva Jersey, un logro que reflejó su determinación y resiliencia.

Teresa formó parte de una familia grande y amorosa. Fue la querida hija de Zeida Dosal Galvez y Salvador Martínez, y hermana de Guillermo Martínez Dosal (fallecido), Maura Martínez Dosal (fallecida), Sixto Martínez Dosal, Amparo Martínez Dosal, Nelson (Papo) Martínez Dosal, María del Pilar Martínez Dosal, Enrique Martínez Dosal, Zeida (Zeidita) Martínez Dosal y Rolando Martínez.

Al vivir su vida marcada por la fe, la fortaleza, la devoción a la familia, el trabajo arduo y la risa, su espíritu siempre dejó una impresión inolvidable en todos los que la conocieron. Durante más de 45 años, Teresa tocó innumerables vidas a través de su trabajo como costurera, una profesión que ejerció con cuidado, destreza y orgullo, sabiendo que su labor impactaba vidas más allá de la tela misma. Sus manos talentosas crearon incontables prendas y, por un tiempo, también confeccionó hermosos velos de novia, contribuyendo a algunas de las celebraciones más felices de la vida. Más adelante, continuó su dedicación al cuidado de los demás al obtener su certificación como Asistente de Cuidado Personal a través del Departamento de Salud del Estado de Nueva York, Oficina de Administración de Medicaid, el 7 de junio de 1999, y trabajó posteriormente como Asistente de Cuidado Personal.

Teresa también tenía una personalidad aguerrida, "sin rodeos, y no alguien con quien se jugara", pero a la vez era cariñosa. Conocida por su ingenio rápido y su agudo sentido del humor, todos los que se encontraban con ella se sentían atraídos por su naturaleza amorosa que emanaba de ella en todo momento. Cualquiera que pasara siquiera unos minutos en su presencia sentía su calidez. Las personas se enamoraban de ella de inmediato, atraídas por su hermosa sonrisa, su espíritu cálido y su risa maravillosa- una risa que, como dice amorosamente su hijo, iluminaba una habitación.

Teresa disfrutaba de los placeres cotidianos de la vida. Le encantaba ver telenovelas, El Show de Walter Mercado y Sábado Gigante, y jugaba fielmente sus números de la lotería sin faltar. La música fue una compañera constante y una fuente de alegría en su vida. Amaba especialmente a Beny Moré, junto con Willy Chirino, Celina y Reutilio, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Celia Cruz, Orquesta Aragón, El Gran Combo, Pérez Prado, Compay Segundo y Luis Miguel, cuyos boleros románticos ocupaban un lugar especial en su corazón.

Teresa partió en paz para estar con su Señor el domingo 21 de diciembre de 2025, en Elmhurst, Nueva York. Fue precedida en la muerte por su esposo, Jorge Luis Quesada, Sr., quien falleció en 2002. Teresa fue una madre muy amorosa y dedicada a su único y devoto hijo, Jorge Luis Quesada, Jr., a quien deja para continuar su legado. Para también continuar su legado, deja a sus queridos nietos: Linda Teresa Quesada, Laura Reneé Quesada, Sydney Nichole Quesada y Cristían Santiago Quesada. También fue una orgullosa y amorosa bisabuela de Alaina (Lainy) Janese Boyd, Reyne Ann A'mor Shiver, Skye Ann A'mor Cash y Messiyah Ashad Cash, y encontró gran alegría al saber que otro bisnieto está esperado para el 11 de abril de 2026. Teresa también deja a numerosos y queridos sobrinos, sobrinas, sobrinos-nietos, sobrinas-nietas, primos, colegas y amigos.

Por encima de todo, Teresa será recordada como una mujer de fe inquebrantable, fortaleza, calidez, sentido del humor y profundo amor por su familia. Su legado vive a través de sus hijos, nietos, bisnietos y de todos aquellos que tuvieron la bendición de conocerla. Aunque la extrañaremos profundamente y atesoraremos cada recuerdo que compartimos juntos, encontramos consuelo al saber que está con nuestro Señor y Salvador y que ha encontrado su verdadero hogar en el cielo. Celebramos una vida bien vivida y hallamos consuelo al saber que ahora descansa en paz en los brazos de su Salvador, donde su memoria será un tesoro para todos nosotros.
