Teresa Wixom Obituary
Teresa was born March 31, 1948, in Driggs, Idaho, to Alden Ray Thompson and Ruth Caldwell Thompson. She lived in Teton Valley until she was 4, and then her family moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1966. She also attended Brigham Young University where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and a teaching certificate. After graduating college, Teresa taught school in Menan, Idaho, until she met Les Wixom.
On January 13, 1973, she married Leslie Floyd Wixom in Idaho Falls. Teresa and Les made their home in Blackfoot, Idaho, where Teresa taught in the Blackfoot School District for thirty five years.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held various callings throughout her life. She loved reading, talking to her friends, and camping and spending time with family. Teresa especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, her greatest blessings.
Teresa is survived by her husband, Leslie Wixom of Blackfoot, ID; son, Stephen (Asa) Wixom of Lakeridge, VA; daughter, Shayna (William) Sharp of Idaho Falls, ID; grandson, Hayden Wixom of Lakeridge, VA; granddaughter, Mina Wixom of Lakeridge, VA; grandson, Liam Sharp of Idaho Falls, ID; granddaughter, Harper Sharp of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Eula Endecott of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Patsy (Dennis) Reynolds of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Kelly (David) Miller of Afton, WY; sister, Beverly Bullock of Twin Falls, ID; and brother-in-law, Bill (Marilyn) Wixom of Spokane, WA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ermal Thompson, Charles Thompson, and Blaine Thompson; sister, Dorothy Skidmore; father-in-law, Lawrence Bailey Wixom; mother-in-law, Virginia Stone; brother-in-law, Boyd Endecott; and brother-in-law, Gene Wixom.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Groveland Cemetery.
