Teresita Paras Dela Cruz Obituary"In Loving Memory of Teresita Paras Dela Cruz It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of our beloved Teresita Paras Dela Cruz. Following a lengthy battle with Pancreatic Cancer, Teresita passed peacefully at home, surrounded by her family at the age of 82 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 64 years, Carlos; and greatly missed by her loving children, Basilia Walton (John Noto), Josephine, Felicito (Beth Legaspi), Charlie [deceased], Beralyn, Ronald, Rogelio (Amylin Fulgencio), Rodel, Carlo, and Emma Oribello (Will Oribello); and survived by her grandchildren Carlos III, Charlyn, Vic [deceased], Cris, Carmelo, Maurice, Lara Mae, Kalvin, Dylan, Ahmad, Aaron, Andrew, Cassie, Caden and Aiden.
Teresita was born in Solano, Nuevo, Vizcaya, Philippines on November 17, 1940 to the late Rufo and Isabelle Paras.Teresita possessed many skills from being a beautician, seamstress, housekeeper, and our favorite cook. There was never a time that her home felt empty of smells or love. The week she was discharged from the hospital and into hospice care, Teresita found strength in her grandchildren. After a month of hospitalization and only a day in hospice, she mustered the energy to sit in her wheelchair for the first time so she could cook dinner for her family. Among many gifts she possessed, the greatest gift that she instilled into her kids and grandkids was her ability to love and forgive. She would often say that she may not have much but that she was rich in love. And, loved she was.
We invite all those who were blessed by Teresita's love and grace to join us in celebration of her life will be held Sunday, July 23, 2023 from 12:00 to 4:00 pm at Tohle Funeral Home, 4325 W. Lawrence Ave. Chicago, IL 60630. Funeral services begin Monday July 24, 2023 at Tohle Funeral Home. Family and friends are asked to meet between 9:00 – 9:45 am. The Funeral Procession will then proceed to St. Padre Pio Parish church at 5600 N. Fairfield Ave, Chicago, for a Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. An interment will follow at All Saints Catholic Cemetery, 700 N River Rd, Des Plaines, IL 60016. The Funeral Mass will also be live streamed.
