Terrence W. “Terry” Carroll, 73, of Pierron, IL, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon, IL.

He was born on July 8, 1951, in Decatur, IL, to George and Darla (nee Rexroat) Carroll.

Terry attended Eisenhower High School from 1967 to 1970. After high school, he worked for ADM in Decatur, IL, and Kerasotes Theater Enterprises, including two drive-in movie theaters. His father, George, managed the two drive-in’s for about two years, then his aunt and uncle took over one of them. In the early 70’s, his father became the manager and projectionist at his location, and his mother did the bookkeeping. Terry did crowd control, maintenance, and stocking the concession stands. His family ran the drive-in from 1971 to 1985. They moved to Highland, IL, in 1985, where his mom and dad ran the Lory Theater from ’85 to ’92. Terry went back to work for various factories in ’87 and retired in 2015. He was very proud of both his sons, Nathanial and Nicholas, who are United States Army Veterans.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Darla Carroll, and his brother, Gary Lynn Carroll.

Terry is survived by his sons, Nathanial (Lori) Carroll, Ballwin, MO, and Nicholas Carroll; grandchildren, Jonathan Carroll and William Carroll; nephews, Brian (Sarah) Carroll and Greg Carroll.

Per his wishes, Terry will be cremated, and no services will be held.
