TERRENCE “TERRY” LEE GEORGE was born on November 2, 1963, to Terrence and Barbara (Brown) George. In his youth he had bright red hair, an early love of good food and a bit of a naughty streak that lasted well into adulthood. Terry passed away on January 3, 2026, after a long and very determined battle with cancer of over 18 years. He lived many years longer than his medical team ever expected him to.
Terry graduated from Monticello High School in 1982. He also attended St. Louis Park High School prior to that. He graduated in 1986 from the Carlson School of Management at the U of M Minneapolis-St Paul. He worked at Brown Printing Co. (later Quad Graphics) for over 33 years in the Bindery, Mail Prep, Customer Service and Estimating.
Terry loved the combination of travel and good food. He especially enjoyed the Maine Coast and likely ate his weight in lobsters there. He was a waterfowl and game bird hunter and a fisherman as well, cherishing trips taken with family and friends over the years. He enjoyed bowling and playing golf. Other hobbies he had were Fantasy Football, MN Twins baseball, Viking Football and Wild Hockey, reading and playing video games. Terry was a big fan of The Hobbit/The Lord of the Rings and had numerous favorite TV shows, especially Survivor, Alone, and Big Brother. He watched reruns of The Office, Friends, and The Big Bang Theory endlessly. He enjoyed classic rock, weed, and a good nap.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, a sister Linda Aery, an uncle Bob George and stepfather Max Draper. He is survived by his “Pookie” and fiancée Linda Larson, sisters Judy George (Lisa Jordan) and Loree (Rod) Anderson, brothers Jason (Sharon) George and Scott Draper, aunt Janet George, stepmother Sharon Draper, nieces Kellie Jo Russell, Miranda Melendez, Shelby (Ray) Ortiz and Hailey George and nephews Tyler (Callie) Draper and Travis Draper, five great nieces, one great nephew, cousins Julie Vergin, Kathy Berman, Bill and Matt George, and his bonus family through Linda: Brandon (Staci), Dustin, Dillon (Alexis Barela), William, Sawyer, Lincoln, Hendrick, Ronny and Rowdy Larson.
Terry is also survived by his brother from another mother, former roommate, longtime friend, and partner in good times Larry, as well as many other friends. And finally, he is survived by his dear loving cat OJ. Orange Julius George was a true comfort and blessing to him during the past few years.
Special Thank You to Alina Hospice of Faribault staff, especially Nurse Rachel, Larry Merritt, and Dustin Larson for your help these past few months. It has been a journey.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Terry's life at the Miller Armstrong Building 3rd Floor Event Center (204 2nd St. SW Waseca, MN 56093) on Saturday, January 31, 2026 beginning at 2:00 PM. A short service will begin at 4:20 PM sharp, followed by appetizers and dessert.
Memorials preferred to Furball Farms Cat Sanctuary in Faribault Minnesota.
109 3rd Street NE, Waseca, MN 56093
