Phyllis J. "Phyl" Capucini
Phyllis J. "Phyl" Capucini, 78, of Tiffin, died at 5:10 a.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Elmwood at The Shawhan, Tiffin. She was born December 31, 1946, in Tiffin, to Donald and Madeline Pauline (Berlin) Dull Sr.
She is survived by her seven siblings, Ronald "Winnie" Dull, Donald "Elmer" Dull Jr., and Dorie Bour, all of Tiffin, Sandra "Sam" (Dick) Sendelbach of Bascom, Patricia "Peep" Dull, Karen West, and Rayan Hanna, all of Tiffin; two sisters-in-law, Doris Dull of Tiffin and Nancy Dull of Shippensburg, Pennsylvania; many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews; as well as good friends, Ruth Holcombe, Sharon Comer, and Donna McConhay; a stepdaughter, Monica (Ian) Vroman, and a daughter-in-law, Susie Capucini.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Lee Anthony Capucini (October 24, 2017); seven siblings, Robert "Pork" Dull, Daryl Dull, Rita Shock, Pauline "Rose" Sendelbach, John "Hop" Dull, Fay Iannantuono, and Betsy Kay Combs; a brother-in-law, Robert Bour, and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Dull.
Phyllis spent quality time with several nieces and nephews. A special bond was built with Kasi Ramirez of Tiffin, Alesha (Jonathan) Doran of Cincinnati, Mackenzie Hanna of Norwalk, Ashley Shock, Megan Davidson, and Taylor Scott, all of Tiffin.
Phyllis was a 1965 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School and retired as a meat inspector for the Ohio Department of Agriculture. She previously worked for USDA Eckrich in Fremont for 15 years. She was a lifetime member of Moose Lodge, P.E.R.S., Allen Eiry Senior Center, AFSCME 1965, and a member of St Mary Catholic Church. She attended the space shuttle launch in November 2009, enjoyed Friday night Parcheesi games, and was an avid Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeye fan. She also enjoyed trips to Las Vegas with her siblings and friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be 9:30 a.m. Friday, September 26, 2025, at TRAUNERO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 214 S Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Stephanie Little. Burial will take place at Seneca Memory Gardens immediately following the service.
