Terri Pomering, 79, passed away on December 12, 2023, in Mount Morris, Illinois. Born in Rushville, Illinois March 25, 1944. Daughter to Arthur and Margaret (Little) Eifert. A 1961 graduate of Rushville High School, Terri made her way to Rockford and worked at a few local businesses before retiring through Abar Ipsen. Terri will always be remembered for how much she loved doing anything for everyone and always with a smile, never expecting something in return. Terri started a quilting group at Brooke Road United Methodist Church, It quickly expanded and she then opened her home to continue doing charity work of making quilts for both veterans and the homeless. She loved hosting the quilting group from her provisional quilt shop in her basement (which was on par or even superseded most regular quilt shops). She also had a deep love for all the family pets throughout her life. Later in life, she spent quality time at home with her husband and their dogs peanut and precious, watching the birds until Richard's passing in January of 2020. A very special thank you to the care and compassion that Serenity hospice and Allure of Pinecrest showed to both Terri and the family.
She will be missed by those who loved her most, her children Greg (Michelle) and Eric; her grandchildren Justin (Amanada), Randi (Ryan), Autumn, Brooke (Nick), Alyson (Mike), Anthony and AnaMarie (Mickey); her grandchildren Becky, Devon, Brylee, Joshy, and Zaylee; her sister Shirley Kennedy and her brother Raymond (Joanne); numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by her husband of 34 years, Richard; her stillborn son Mark; her parents Arthur and Margaret; her sister Katherine (Marvin) Downs and her brother-in-law Gene Kennedy.
A visitation will take place on Monday, December 18, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. until time of Memorial Service at 5:30 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, Illinois 61108. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to be established at a later date.
