Terrie Munder

Terrie Munder, 95, daughter of James Aloysius and Marie Elizabeth (Nohava) Hollowed passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026. Beloved wife of the late Lee Munder; loving mother of John E. Birch Jr., Terrie (Harold) Kallal, Laurence (Mary Rose) Birch, and the late Christopher; cherished grandmother of Fr. Scott Kallal, Cindy Dawdy, Cheryl Cassidy, Steven Kallal, and Jacqueline Remus; devoted great-grandmother of many. She resided in Chicago, formerly Oak Brook and raised in Berwyn.

Terrie was an avid bridge player and an active member of Mensa. She held both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Psychology, working for many years as Director of Volunteer Services at Holy Family Hospital in Des Plaines. Terrie had a lifelong curiosity about people and the world, having travelled to many countries around the world. She was witty, exceptionally bright, and deeply generous-qualities that defined her and endeared her to so many. Above all, she loved her family deeply and was dearly loved in return.

She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Lee, her late son, Christopher, and with many loved ones who preceded her. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.

Visitation will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on Monday, April 6, at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. A procession will follow to St. Odilo Catholic Church in Berwyn-where Terrie was baptized, received her First Communion, was Confirmed, and attended school-for a 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at Bronswood Cemetery in Oak Brook.
