Terry Blumer

Terry Leon Blumer, 81, of Columbia, MO, passed away March 17, 2013, at his home in North Columbia. A private family visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, and will conclude in Memorial Park Cemetery, with full military honors. Terry was born on June 8, 1932, in Columbia, MO to the late Terry and Helen Blumer. He was employed by Simmons Moving and Storage for many years, until his retirement in 1992. Terry proudly served his country in the United States Marines during the Korean War. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and golf. Terry was somewhat of hell raiser throughout his life, and he left this world as he entered it: kicking and screaming. He was deeply loved by his family and friends. He is survived by his two brothers: Ronnie Blumer of Columbia, and Donnie Blumer of Fulton; three daughters: Betty Barfield and Deborah Watson, both of Columbia, and Tina Blumer of Harrisburg; five grandchildren: April Blumer, Katie Barfield, Jennifer Hammonds, Aaron Barfield and Cody Mordica; seven great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Terry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Blumer, his parents, grandparents, three sisters, two brothers and one daughter.
