Terry A. Braaten

 Terry A. Braaten, age 83 of Litchfield, MN died on Thursday February 13, 2025 at the Meeker Manor in Litchfield, MN. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday February 21, 2025 at Johnson Hagglund funeral home. A visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM prior to the service. Interment will be held at Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield, MN. Military Honors will be provided by the Litchfield Military Honor Guard.

Terry A. Braaten, the son of Clifford and Luverne (Risdon) Braaten was born on August 29, 1941 in Litchfield MN. Terry graduated from Litchfield High School in 1959 and then joined the Navy where he served his country aboard the USS Valley Forge. Terry married his high school sweetheart Kathy Kieffer in 1963. They purchased a farm near Litchfield in 1964. Terry farmed, and also worked as a supervisor for 3M for 33 years, retiring on January 1, 1997. Terry enjoyed the outdoors and loved hunting, trapping, fishing, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, water-skiing, roller-skating and country music. He enjoyed trips to the cabin on Fish Trap Lake, salmon fishing on Lake Michigan, and ice fishing on the lakes in the Litchfield area. Terry also bred and raised blood hound dogs. He restored a 1956 Thunderbird and was known for his Volkswagen cars. 

Terry is survived by children Cassandra ‘Cassie’ Braaten of Sioux Falls, SD, Michael (Kristie) Braaten of Centennial, CO and their children Oliver and Maxwell, and Alexander (Dezaray) Braaten of Hopkins, MN.

 Terry was preceded in death by his parents and wife Kathy Braaten.
