Published by Legacy on Jan. 16, 2026.
Terry Lea Cunningham, 79, passed away on January 8, 2026, in Memphis, Tennessee. She was born on June 28, 1946, in Hartford, Kentucky, to Glenn and Naomi Patton. Terry grew up between Kentucky and Chicago, Illinois, shaping a life grounded in resilience, warmth, and deep devotion to the people she loved.

Terry dedicated her life to caring for others. She worked as a homemaker, an election worker, and in childcare, and she spent many years as a caregiver to children with special need.

She is survived by her husband, Lemmie Cunningham, and her children Gregory Cunningham, Bradly Cunningham, and Kevin Cunningham. She was a proud grandmother to Jeremy Cunningham, Justin Cunningham, Taylore Ferguson, and Jacob Cunningham, and a great grandmother to Isabella Cunningham, Gemma Cunningham, and Griffin Ferguson.

Terry was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Naomi Patton, her son Jeffery Cunningham (Joann), and brother, Tom Patton.

Those who knew Terry will remember her as a loving, caring, and generous person. She loved spending time spent with family and friends, found joy in music and movies, and was an avid fan of her beloved Chicago Cubs. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and warmth to every room she entered.

Her passing is a profound loss to all who loved her. Terry will be deeply missed and forever cherished in memory.
