Obituary published on Legacy.com by Marvin C. Zanders Funeral Home, Inc. on May 6, 2025.
Terry Levonce Dulaney was born in Troy, Alabama to parents, Josephine Dulaney and Charles Cowart, Sr. He relocated to Winter Garden, Florida as an infant. Terry attended Orange County Public Schools and graduated from West Orange High School in1986. Terry had a love for music at an early age. During high school, he mastered the skill of playing the clarinet.
He was a proud member of the West Orange High Marching Band. He was an immaculate and "looking good all the time" dresser with his own unique style. Immediately following graduation, Terry enlisted in the United States Army. He fought during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. His duties also included a tour in Hawaii. During his time there, he was a part of an Hawaiian Dance Troupe. After 8 years of exemplary service, he was honorably discharged in 1994.
Terry relocated to Winter Garden as an infant with his mother, later moving to Titusville, where he attended Brevard Community College, graduating with an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice. In 2001, Terry gained employment with the Orange County Corrections Department. Terry received numerous awards and letters of commendation. He was a dedicated officer for 23 years, retiring in April 2024.
He enjoyed the finer things in life. He loved to travel, loved being on the beach, listening to the waves and watching the sunset. Music was a big part of his life also, especially listening to jazz. Terry was a "gym rat" always working out, and loved doing Yoga. His most treasured time however, was spent with family and loved ones spreading love and reminiscing of the beautiful live they shared. For those who knew him well, he was like a "Free Bird," sociable but non-sociable. He lived life to the fullest and lived a life of purpose and peace. He will always be remembered for that "Big, Beautiful" smile.
On April 29, 2025, God saw fit to call him home. He was preceded in death by his father: Charles Edward Cowart, Sr, his brother: Charles Edward Cowart, Jr, uncle: Alfonzo Dulaney and aunt: Annie Ree Stringer.
