Terry A. Gholson

Terry Augustus Gholson, age 82 of Sterling, died Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at OSF St. Anthony in Rockford. Terry was born on August 9, 1936 in Sterling, the son of Augustus Marion and Mary Ellen (Terry) Gholson. He was a United States Army Veteran and served in the Korean War. Terry is a 1959 graduate of Worsham College of Mortuary Science. He worked as a funeral director at Unger Funeral Home in Rochelle for 2 years, then 4 years in Prescott, AZ and 23 years in San Diego, CA before retiring and returning back to Sterling. He is survived by his sister, Judy Hill of Whittier, CA, his nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Gholson, Sr. A family graveside service will be held on Monday, July 22, 2019 at St. Mary's Cemetery in Tampico. Cremation rites have been accorded with the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico.
