WADESBORO – On Friday, April 11.2025. Mr. Terry Lynn Goodman, 65, passed away peacefully at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro.
There will be a service to celebrate his life at 4:00 PM, Wednesday, April 16, 2025, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Mr. Ken Caulder officiating.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Terry was born October 4, 1959, in Anson County, NC and was the son of the late Joe Walker “J.W” Goodman and the late Gladys Harrington Goodman. He was a 1977 graduate of Bowman High School.
He worked with Electrolux Vacuum Cleaners for a number of years as a salesman and store manager. He was recognized and given awards for being the top salesman in his region.
Those who are left to cherish his memory are his sister, Betty Jo McCollum of Wadesboro; his nieces, Wendy Ricketts (Tony), Kristi Porten and Becky Flake all of Wadesboro; his great-nieces and great-nephew, McKayla Chavis (Dec) of Cheraw, SC, Trace Ricketts (Emily) and McKinley Porten both of Wadesboro, Jordan Leary (Kyle) of Peachland and Kamryn Spivey (Ian) of Polkton; his great-great-nephew and great-great-niece, Jett Spivey and Blakely Chavis; his sister-in-law, Barbara Goodman of Wadesboro and his aunt, Ruby Sheppard of Lilesville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Goodman.
Terry loved his family dearly. He had a great sense of humor and always enjoyed joking around with his friends and family. He also enjoyed going to gospel singings with his mother. His family takes comfort in knowing he has been reunited with his family and that he has been given a new body promised to him by his Savior.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Tameka Douglas who was his guardian for the last 11 years. She was just like family to him.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cathedral Baptist Church, 1215 Old Lilesville Rd, Wadesboro, NC 28170.
