Indianapolis, Indiana – Terry L. Hansen, 78, went home to the Lord on March 12, 2025, after being comforted by his family. His outgoing nature and love for his family will be sincerely missed by all who knew him.
Terry was born on December 27, 1946, to parents Leon & Ruth (Hasty) Hansen in Rensselaer, Indiana. After graduating from high school, he obtained his business degree from the University of Indianapolis. A man who loved to know his neighbors, he owned and operated Bar 52 for many years. He was also a member of Franklin Central Christian Church.
When not working, Terry loved to work out and go to the gym. He was a bodybuilder who placed competitively, ranking 2nd in the nation at one point. He took athletics very seriously, having played football, basketball, track, and shotput in high school.
When he found time to relax, Terry loved to spend time on his stock pond in his backyard, fishing.
Terry is survived by his children, Terra Otte (Matthew) and John Hansen (Michele); his sister Carol (Harvey); grandchildren Johnathan Hansen, Eve Hansen, Savanna Otte, Memphis Otte, Breanna Presslor, Kaiden Luke, and Kyle Luke; as well as great-grandchildren, Nova Hansen, Laila Hansen, Bentley Bullard, Kingston Warner, Nyla Laster, Sylas Laster, and Cordell Laster III.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East (Community Life Center), from 4 – 8 pm. Funeral services will follow on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 11 am with entombment following at Washington Park East Cemetery.
