Terry Holt Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Waldo Funeral Home - Sherman from Sep. 22 to Oct. 3, 2025.
Terry Lee Holt, 65, of Sherman, Texas, passed away on September 19, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Terry was born on February 13, 1960, in Sherman, Texas, to Tommy Lee and Anna Grace Holt. He graduated from Sherman High School and went on to attend Grayson College before building a respected career as a certified mechanic. Known as one of the best in the area, his skill, dedication, and honesty earned him the trust of countless customers who asked for him by name. He especially loved working on cars and rebuilding them, finding pride and joy in his craft both on and off the job.
Outside of work, Terry found joy in the simple things that mattered most-spending time with family and friends, enjoying the outdoors, and fishing. In recent years, his greatest passion became his grandchildren, who brought him endless pride and happiness.
Terry is survived by his loving mother, Anna Grace Holt; his devoted wife, Vicki Lynn Holt; his daughter Sadie Midgette, her husband Jonathan, and their son Waylon; his daughter Chelsea Yeargain, her husband Patrick, and their daughters Zelda and Nova.
He is also survived by his sisters: Reta Lois Cooksey, and her children Mark Cooksey, Amber Defer, and Crystal Traweek; along with her grandchildren Noah Nuncio, Lana Traweek, Shiloh Davis, and Sierra Cooksey; and Kimberly Ann Danner and her husband Bobby, along with their children Justin North, Holly North, Tyler Danner, and Keegan Danner, and grandchildren Paiton Rangel and Ryleigh Rangel.
Terry was preceded in death by his grandson Memphis Midgette, his nephew Cason Brookshire, his father Tommy Lee Holt, and his mother-in-law Katherine Brookshire.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025, at Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman, Texas, at 2 p.m. where family and friends will gather to celebrate Terry's life and legacy.
Terry will be remembered for his hard work, his big heart, his love of family, and the countless ways he touched the lives of those around him. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
