Terry Johnson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wulf-Ast Mortuary & Cremations, LLC - Garden Plain on Feb. 26, 2026.
Terry Lynn Johnson, 72, passed away at his home in Wichita, KS on Feb 19th, 2026.

He was born May, 24, 1953 in Delta, CO to Luther Johnson and Alice (Wort) Johnson.

Terry spent most of his boyhood years with his family in rural Manhattan. They lived in an old two story house that was located near the Kansas river. When he was old enough he was given free rein to go down to that river where he spent most of his time learning to hunt, fish and trap.

Terry got his GED and in March of 1972 he joined the Navy. After he finished his 4 year term in the Navy, he moved back to Kansas and started a career as a CNC machinist in Enterprise, KS.

This is where he met and married Jeanne Ryman. In 1987 they were blessed with their only child, Brenda Lee.

Later, he lived in various towns in Kansas including Hope, Abilene, Topeka and Wichita. He also moved to North Carolina for a couple of years before returning to Wichita.

Terry's loves were fishing, guitar, all kinds of music, making beaded bracelets, and most especially his beloved daughter Brenda who gave him three grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughter Brenda Johnson of Redfield, SD, and grandchildren, Brooke Kidd of Milbank, SD, Alex Kidd, and Christopher Brown, both of Redfield, SD, his ex-wife Jeanne Johnson of Redfield, SD, his brother, LeRoy Johnson, Wamego, KS, and his sister Susie Boese (Delbert) of luka, KS and many nieces and nephews and step nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Luther Johnson and Alice Langworthy and stepfather Bill Langworthy.

Cremation has taken place and the memorial service will be held April 18, 2026 at 1PM at
