Terry Kollmann Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cremation Society of Berks County, Inc. on Jan. 4, 2026.
Terry J. Kollmann, 70, of Reading, Pennsylvania, and formerly of Burkburnett, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, January 2, 2026, surrounded by his loving family, following a courageous battle with multiple sclerosis.

Born on February 13, 1955, in Glens Falls, New York, Terry was the son of the late John H. Brainard and Marjorie L. Brainard. From an early age, Terry possessed a rare light-one that drew people to him and stayed with them long after they met. He loved everyone he encountered, and his kindness, humor, and genuine spirit left an impression on all who crossed his path.

Above all else, Terry was a devout Christian whose faith never wavered. His belief in God guided his life, gave him strength through every challenge, and was evident in the way he loved others-with compassion, humility, and grace.

He was raised in Warrensburg NY and in high school he was an All-American standout athlete whose talent and charisma drew crowds from everywhere. Yet it was not only his athletic ability that made him unforgettable-it was his infectious personality and glowing presence. Terry had a way of making people feel seen, welcomed, and valued. Anyone who met him felt blessed to know him, and many fell in love with him instantly.

Terry was a hardworking and respected professional whose career reflected his dedication, leadership, and integrity. He spent 18 years as Vice President of Preston Dairy Products, where he was highly regarded for his knowledge and commitment to excellence. After relocating to Pennsylvania, Terry began a new chapter in his professional life as the owner of a Distribution center, serving Borders Bookstore cafés across the East Coast, Puerto Rico, and England. He also consulted in commodities for many years, generously sharing his expertise and building lasting professional relationships. Terry took great pride in his work and the life he built through it.

Above all else, Terry was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He worked hard, loved deeply, and truly loved life. His home was filled with laughter, warmth, and love, and his family was the center of his world. In addition to his immediate family, Terry leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom he dearly adored and cherished deeply.

Terry is survived by his beloved wife, Louise B. Kollmann; his son, Dr. Joshua L. Kollmann, and daughter-in-law, Allison Kollmann, along with their children Ella, Luke, and Blake; and his daughter, Stacie Lee Klopp, and son-in-law, Dustin Klopp, along with their children Payton and Mason. He is also survived by his brothers John, Mark, and Randy, and his sisters Diane and Connie.

Life will never be the same in the Kollmann home. Terry's love, laughter, and light will be forever missed, but his legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched.

Fly high, Daddy-you have earned your wings.

My sincerest condolences to the Kollmann family. Terry and I competed against one another in high school athletics. Lake George and Warrensburg were arch rivals and we often found ourselves in games that decided the league championship.
Many a defensive player made the mistake of believing that Terry couldn't possibly throw a pass beyond the point they were defending on the field. On the court, you had to defend Terry once he crossed mid court. One can only imagine how many more points he would have scored if the three point shot had existed back "then".
Yes: HEAVEN's teams now have a new star quarterback and a new sharpshooting point guard. I know Terry will be waiting when my day "comes": to continue our rivalry that began so many years ago. One thing is for certain: whenever and wherever Terry plays, it will be standing room only.
Sincerely,
Dexter Jenkins
