Terry A. Kozloff
Lyman
Terry A. Kozloff, 75, of Lyman, passed away peacefully with her family by her side early Tuesday morning, September 5, 2023 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.
She was born in Portland on March 12, 1948. She graduated from Portland High School.
Terry was from the generation of hard work. She worked in various industries. Earlier, she was employed by Nelson & Small, Maremont Corporation and as an EMT and dispatch operator for the Town of Old Orchard Beach. She worked for the Village Inn, the Kerrymen Pub and as a recorder for the Biddeford District Court. Later, she was co-owner and operated the Beach Beacon Newspaper. Most recently, she was compliance analyst for Cross America Partners until 2015. Terry took great pride in her work and was a valued friend, co-worker and trusted employee.
Most importantly, Terry was a loving and loyal wife and mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a fierce protector of her family, a force to be reckoned with. She gave everything she had to everyone she loved, and a little bit more. She was tireless, selfless, and always had a kind word and a hug for anyone that needed one. She was a positive life-force, a gentle spirit in a harsh world and always she saw the good in everyone.
Terry had the innate ability to make everyone feel loved and she embraced you every time that you were blessed enough to see her. She held you tight under her protective wing, and you came away feeling loved and cherished. If she loved you, she loved you for life! She would go head to head against the mightiest Goliath if her family members or friends needed her, she would not back down, or back up, but only plow full force ahead with the strength and bravery of a warrior going into battle.
That is exactly what she was to everyone who loved her, their warrior, hero, wife, mother and "Mam." And there was no role that she took more seriously than that of "Champion." She cheered loudly from the sidelines for her grandchildren in gymnastics, soccer, lacrosse, ice hockey, cheering competitions, in all of their sports and school activities. She never missed a graduation, celebration or a birthday. Terry was there, always. She was a great wife, mother, grandmother and a true friend.
When time permitted, Terry had many interesting hobbies. She enjoyed traveling, spending time on the ocean and camping. She had a creative side, knitting, crocheting, sewing and doing ceramics. She also liked the arts, always reading and listening to all types of music, one of her favorite bands was the Avett Brothers. Most of all, Terry loved her family and the time they spent together. She will be sadly missed by many.
She was predeceased by her parents Daniel and Marjorie (Bangs) Stanley.
She is survived by her most important legacy, her daughters, Nichole Fortin, and Jennifer Croteau, who she would move Heaven and Earth for and often did, and her other-half, protector, friend, loving and devoted husband of 40-years Richard Kozloff.
She also leaves behind her loved-until-the-end-of-time grandchildren, Taylor Voisine, Alyssa Voisine, Jacob Fortin, Maddox Chan, and Mia Chan. She leaves behind her cherished sons-in-law (whom she considered sons) Sam Ngourn, and Tom Croteau, her best friend Pam Swanson, her sister Sheila Webber, her cousin Kim, a niece Meredith Merritt, and her nephew Dan Stanley.
She will miss her two rascally and rambunctious dogs, Lilly and Luna who slept beside her, whom she loved with all of her heart.
Visiting Hours will be from 11AM-1PM with a Funeral Service at 1PM Friday, September 8, 2023, at Cote Funeral Home Chapel, 87 James Street, Saco. A Graveside Service will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco. To view Terry's memorial page, leave an online condolence or watch her family video, please visit www.cotefuneralhome.com
