Norman Terry Lane, 65, passed away in his home October 6, 2025.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM, Sunday, October 12, 2025 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory officiated by Spinger Cain, Executive Pastor of CrossPointe Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Terry was born January 30, 1960 in Columbus, GA, son of the late Leon and Voncile Lane. He attended Columbus High School and Shorter University, where he sang in the chorus. After college, Terry worked in computer programming and was later self-employed, caring for his elderly parents before their deaths. Terry was generous, soft-spoken, and loved to laugh. His time was spent often with family and caring for his dog, Rascal. He also enjoyed fishing, going to concerts and plays, dining with friends, and attending Bible studies at CrossPointe Church, where he was a member. Terry had a firm faith and loved his Savior, Jesus Christ, taking comfort in the message of Ephesians 2:4-5: “But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved . . .”
Terry is survived by his brother, Larry Lane (Pat) of Columbus, GA; sister, Charlotte Bland (Charlie) of Fortson, GA; brother, L.C. Lane, Jr. (Deborah) of Newnan, GA; his nephews Matthew Lane, Mitchell Lane, Chris Lane, and Andy Lane; his nieces Wendy Anderson, Anna Rodeheaver, and Sarah Robertson; and several great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to CrossPointe Church, 2301 Airport Thruway, Suite B, and to Valley Rescue Mission of Columbus, 2903 2nd Avenue.
