Terry DuWayne Lee was born on January 24, 1948, in Rapid City, South Dakota, the son of Clarence and Mable (Helling) Lee. Terry attended school in White Shield, North Dakota, where he graduated from White Shield High School. He then went on to North Dakota State University and North Dakota State College of Science, earning a degree in pre-law and criminal justice.
Terry was united in marriage to Carla Jones in 1991, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Terry worked for an Alaskan Pipeline Company in their fleet and logistics/inventory department after college, before he started his career in the Child Support Services field in the early 1980s. This career took him and his family across the United States, working in Washington, Arizona, Oklahoma, California, Indiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, New Mexico, and Florida, where he retired in 2009. In retirement, Terry and Carla relocated to Belleville, Kansas.
Outside of work, Terry enjoyed racing. He was a NASCAR fan, and drove off-road vehicles in various races and courses. He also enjoyed woodworking and renovating his retirement home with his friend Bob Deterding.
Terry passed away on February 21, 2026, at Park Villa in Clyde, Kansas, at the age of 78.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Carla in 2017. He is survived by his son Jaymez Lee of Belleville.
Private family services will be held at the Belleville City Cemetery at a later date, where Terry will be laid to rest next to Carla.
