Bishop Terry McBeath, age 79, died at 11:22 pm on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay. He was born on December 25, 1945 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Kenneth Fred and Lena Marie (Chitwood) McBeath. On August 1, 1964, he married Mary Donna Lee who survives.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Regina Lee Stephens and a brother, Reverend Larry McBeath. Survivors include two sons: Terry Lee (Tammie) McBeath and Pastor Kenneth Charles (Susan) McBeath, both of Findlay, Ohio, four grandchildren: Shannon (Matthew) Delaney, Trenton (Olivia) McBeath, Sarah (Will) McComb, and Titus McBeath; 2 great grandchildren: Jace and Elliana.
He was a 1964 graduate of Lakewood High School. He was also a graduate of Southern California Bible College and Long Beach City College.
Bishop McBeath began his ministry at the Long Beach Church of God as their Youth Pastor. He also led the church plant in Anaheim, CA. He was the pastor of the Upper Room Church of God from 1979 until the time of his retirement in 2015. He was also the State Evangelist, District Overseer (1979-2015) on on the State Council for the Churches of God in Ohio. He served as the Chaplain for the Hancock County Law Enforcement, Findlay Police Department, Findlay Fire Department and the Ohio State Patrol District 1.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at the Upper Room Church of God in Findlay. Funeral services will be held at the church at the conclusion of the visitation at 12:30 pm. Pastor Ken McBeath will officiate and interment will follow at Knollcrest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Upper Room Church of Gods Missions in his memory. COLDREN CRATES FUNERAL HOME in Findlay are honored to be handling the arrangements.
