Terry Duke Nicholson passed away September 2, 2025, in Belleville, IL.

Terry was raised in Mattoon, IL. He joined the U.S. Army in 1966, where he served as a member of the 182nd Airborne Division. After leaving the military, he worked as an insurance salesman, cement mason, and bus and truck driver.
He celebrated his sobriety with friends of Bill W. on September 29, starting in 1975.
He was an avid fan of St. Louis Cardinals baseball, reading (especially history), and music (especially his trumpet). He loved to argue about history and politics, or any other issue where he could find a willing sparring partner.
Memorials: Donations can be made in Terry's honor to the 623 Club in Belleville, IL.
Visitation: Visitation from 9:00 am – 11:30 am, Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, IL.
Funeral Service: Funeral will be held at 11:30 am, Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at Kurrus Funeral Home with Naomi Denton officiating. Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis MO. Funeral Procession will leave by 12:45 pm.
For those unable to attend in person, the service will be live-streamed and available to view on the Kurrus Funeral Home website ( https://kurrusfh.com/live-stream/ ) at 11:25 am prior to the start of services. Please join us virtually to honor and remember Terry Duke Nicholson.
