Terry was born on December 16, 1954, in Breckenridge, MN, to David and Winnifred (Steeves) Pehl. He graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1972 and married the love of his life, Suzanne Miller on September 18, 1982. Together, the couple extended their family with two sons, Bruce and Jeff. Terry had an illustrious trucking career that would last 42 years, and in 1987, founded TLP Trucking and ran it alongside his wife, Suzanne, for 36 years. Terry poured his heart and soul into everything he chose to do.
One of Terry's biggest passions was golfing – he was a member of the Bois de Sioux Golf Club in Wahpeton and liked to play on the Red River Senior Tour. Terry was also an active and faithful member of Bethel Lutheran Church since 1989.
Terry was passionate about helping others. He dedicated himself to the community by being present in the lives of those around him during hard times. He had a knack for noticing when people needed help and was happy to assist in whatever way he could. He had a larger-than-life personality and was a commanding presence in any room he walked into. Terry loved making people laugh with his stories and jokes, and was always the life of the party. Terry will be remembered for his kind heart, his generosity, and his contagious laughter.
Left to cherish Terry’s life is his wife, Suzanne; sons, Bruce (Liz) of Clinton, IA, and Jeff (Emily) of Wahpeton, ND; his grandchildren: Tatum Louise, Avery Elizabeth, Theodore Luke, and Vivien Ruth; his mother, Winnifred; siblings: Bob (Jackie), Angie (Larry) Carlson, Mike (Colleen), Roxanne (Russell) Henderson, Shelly Willemssen, Joseph (Bernice), and Richard (Dawn); as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Terry was fortunate to have many good friends and golfing buddies throughout his life who will also miss him dearly. Though he will be missed by many, his memory will continue to bring happiness and appreciation to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Pehl; brother, Chris Pehl; brothers-in-law, Gary Willemssen and Rick Allen; and parents-in-law, Bruce and Lucille Miller.
