HARROD -- Terry L. Pratt, 73, of Harrod, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025 at his residence.
He was born on January 24, 1952 in Kenton, OH to Edgar Pratt and Irene (Wedder) Smith , who both preceded him in death. On August 1, 1987, he married Gwendolyn Reese, who survives in Harrod.
Terry was a truck driver for R.D. Jones Excavating and retired after more than 20 years. He was a man who found joy in the simple, meaningful things in life. Few sights made him happier than a freshly detailed Chevelle gleaming in the driveway, a perfectly mowed lawn, or time spent with his family. He took pride in his work, whether it was caring for his car, keeping his yard just right, or providing for and protecting those he loved.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife Gwendolyn Pratt of Harrod are his children Tyler Pratt of North Lewisburg, Trevor (Jocelyn) Pratt of Harrod, Cynthia (Joseph) Dearth of Phillips, NE and Maggie (Jeremy) Pratt of Sidney, OH; his grandchildren Reagan Dearth, Zachary Dearth, Charlotte Yant and Elijah Pratt. Also surviving are his siblings Randy Smith, Sheila Herd, Janet Herd, Lisa Smith and Sharon West all of Lima.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel.

I am so sorry to see that Terry has passed! My heart is broken. He was a good friend and an even better friend to my husband John. John loved Terry like a brother and Terry felt the same even after many years when they weren't in close contact. There are no words for the loss I feel and know it is worse for you Gwen and family. Terry and all are in my prayers and thoughts. Sending much love!
