Terry Richmond Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by All County Funeral Home-Del Lago Chapel - Lake Worth on Mar. 9, 2026.
Terry Lee Richmond, 70, Lake Worth Beach, Florida entered eternal rest on February 6, 2026.

Terry was born on March 14, 1955 at Florence Crittenton Hospital in Detroit, Michigan along with his twin brother Gary Richmond whom Terry affectionately called "Twinny" and "GooGoo".

Terry was the beloved son of Carmella Mary (Pollice) Richmond of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Burton Alfred Richmond of Detroit, Michigan and was raised by his loving and devoted mother along with his three brothers in the Detroit suburb of Royal Oak, Michigan.

He graduated from George A. Dondero High School in Royal Oak, along with his brother Gary in 1973.

After attending Oakland Community College in Oak Park, Michigan for a short period, he decided to move to New York City and South Florida to experience life to the fullest, eventually settling in Miami, Coral Gables and Coconut Grove, Florida where Terry was popularly known as "Mayor of the Grove."

In 1986, Terry met and fell in love with Alex, his partner of 40 years, and they eventually moved to West Palm Beach and Lake Worth Beach, Florida. From 1986 to 2008, they travelled the United States and the world yearly, with numerous trips to Asia, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, South America, Egypt and Sri Lanka, and comfortably circled the globe in 2005 and 2007.

Terry loved bartending at the 21 Club in Manhattan 50 years ago, doing the Daily Horse Racing Form, and visiting horse racetracks in New York, Miami and at the Palm Beach Kennel Club where he easily struck up friendships with many notable benefactors and individuals including one fondly remembered in this years State of the Union Address.

He enjoyed attending major political receptions here in Florida; and in recent years, Terry loved meeting and making new friends at the Mid County Senior Center in Lake Worth Beach.

Terry along with his three brothers, Dale, Larry and Gary were raised by their loving mother Carmella as a single parent. She shared her love, kindness and faith in God to help shape Terry into a caring, loving person with a natural smile and personality that made him even more charming and lovable.

Terry was preceded in death by his mother Carmella and brothers Dale and Larry, his niece Crystal Starr Niebel and his half-sister Marilyn (Jack) Lighton.

Terry will be lovingly remembered by his partner Alex Schultz, twin brother Gary Richmond, Royal Oak, Michigan, half-brother Ronald (Wanda) Richmond, Portage, Indiana, sister-in-law Susan (Dale) Richmond, Tucson, Arizona, niece Christy (Tom) Ferasin, Red Rock, Arizona, nephew Christopher Niebel, Bruceton Mills, West Virginia, great-nieces Stella and Susan Ferasin, Red Rock, Arizona, aunt Rose (Guy) Pollice, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and many cousins and friends, including Roger. He is also survived by his beloved cats Vanessa and Gabby who miss him greatly.

Cremation has taken place and a Funeral Mass will take place at a later date at St. Mary Catholic Church in Royal Oak, Michigan along with the Rite of Committal at Roseland Park Cemetery in Berkley, Michigan.
