Terry Rogers

Terry W. Rogers passed away on July 30, 2025, at home surrounded by his family. Terry was born to Harold P Rogers, and Fern S Rogers on May 30, 1947. Terry grew up in Ogden, Utah.

His love for the outdoors and sports started as a young man and continued throughout his life. He was an avid outdoorsman, fisherman, hunter, golfer, and athlete. In Terry’s youth he enjoyed going on camping trips to Yellowstone with his family and spending time at the family cabin in Bear Lake, ID. Terry played sports that allowed him to be active and hold school track and field records for a number of years.

Terry went to Utah State University, where he played football, was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity, and joined the Army Reserves. After college he began work in the grocery business. He was very driven and passionate about his work. He had a knack for people, communication, and humor that ultimately led him to many successes in life and business. Including the opportunity of two co-owned grocery stores in Montana and Idaho. He made meaningful relationships everywhere he went.

Terry married Dena on October 13,1979. They raised two daughters together in Sandy, UT. Terry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Terry was proud of his grandsons and enjoyed telling them many stories.

Terry spent his final years in both Wyoming and Utah where he continued his lifelong hobbies. Terry was one of a kind, with an incredibly generous heart and soul. We will miss his love, humor, influence, sacrifice and support in all of our lives.

Terry is survived by his wife, Dena R. Rogers; daughter, Morgan Jo (Mike) Simonson; daughter, Sydney Kate Rogers; grandsons, Hank and Leo Simonson; and sister, Jill Yates.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
