Terry Sam

Terry Sam passed away on January 16, 2026, at the age of 63.

Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, Terry carried the spirit of the Pacific Northwest with him throughout his life. Seattle was not just where he grew up - it helped shape his resilience, independence, and deep sense of connection to family.

Terry dedicated his entire career to the hotel industry, working across the country with many hotel brands in a variety of operational and sales roles. He was known for his strong work ethic, professionalism, and his ability to connect with people wherever he went. His career reflected his determination, grit, and unwavering positivity - qualities that defined not only how he worked, but how he lived.

Outside of work, Terry found joy on the water, especially boating, and treasured time spent with his beloved dog, Loki, who was a constant companion and source of happiness.

Terry is survived by his loving mother, Minnie Sam. He also leaves behind his brothers and sisters: Ed Sam, Deborah Sam, Patricia Sam, Tim Sam and wife Karisa Sam, Christine and husband Anthony Gasero IV. He shared a loving partnership with Cheri Rutledge, his longtime partner, who stood by his side through life's journey.

He will be deeply missed by his nieces and nephews - Tyler and wife Brittani, Zachery, Gabriel, Anthony, Kylie, Mia and Evan - and remembered by all who knew him for his strength, warmth, and enduring positive spirit

Terry's legacy lives on through the determination he showed in every chapter of his life, the love he gave to those around him, and the example he set of meeting life with grit and a hopeful heart.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Believers Victory Church in April, with the date to be announced.
