Funeral Service at First Baptist Church, Walters, OK, Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 2:00 p.m., Rev. John Carlisle and Rev. Roger Noland officiating with burial in the Walters Cemetery.
Terry Lynn Sansome was born to Huston Calvin "Sonny" and Barbara Kay (Cooper) Sansome on July 19, 1958 in Ft. Sill, OK, and departed this life in Walters, OK on February 3, 2024 at the age of 65 years, 6 months, and 15 days.
Terry grew up in Walters, but for a time in Panama Beach, FL, during his dad's military career. He graduated from WHS in 1976. He married Patrice Delaine Phillips on September 8, 1978 and they made their home in Walters. They moved to Burkburnett, TX in 2003 to be near Delaine's job and returned to Walters in 2022. Terry began his career in welding with Piping Engineering and then worked at Goodyear for 6 years. He returned to the oil and gas industry doing specialty welding.
Terry enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, and snow and water skiing. He also enjoyed grilling and smoking meats. He was a member of First Baptist Church Wichita Falls.
Terry was preceded in death by his mother Barbara Sansome.
Survivors include his wife Delaine of the home; his father Sonny Sansome of Walters; a daughter and son-in-law, Jenifer and Brady White of Walters; a son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Ashlie Sansome of Walters; 6 grandchildren, Christian Sansome, Gage Sansome, Jayden Sansome, Amberlea Adams, Bralea McKee and Jace Pequeno; 2 great grandchildren, Brilea Adams, and River Adams and one more on the way, Sunny Joy McKee; other relatives and a host of friends.
