Terry J. Stabler

Terry J. Stabler , 74, passed away Friday, September 12, 2014 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. He was born in Ft. Wayne and lived in Huntertown for many years. Terry graduated from Northside HS in 1958 and then joined the US Air Force to serve his country. He was an insurance adjuster with Meridian Mutual for 6 years and an insurance adjuster with Cincinnati Insurance Co. and retired after 36 years He was a member of Huntertown United Methodist Church, the Huntertown Lions Club, Leo American Legion Post 409, Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite. and past president of the Indiana Insurance Adjusters. His hobbies included golfing at Riverbend, Colonial Oaks and Noble Hawk. Terry enjoyed riding his Goldwing and belonged to the Chapter C- 2 Goldwing club. He refereed middle and high school basketball and was a board member of the Northwest Allen County Schools. His greatest passion in life was spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends. Surviving are his loving wife of 51 years, Joyce A. Stabler of Huntertown, IN; daughters, Karen (Derek) Cade of Fremont, IN; Kelly (Bart) Anderson of Churubusco, IN; brothers, Bruce (Sandy) Lehman, Mark (Chris) Lehman of Ft. Wayne, IN; grandchildren, Cole Anderson, Logan Cade, Makenna Cade and a special friend, his dog, Dixie . Terry was preceded in death by father, Robert Stabler, mother, Margaret Lehman, and brother, Carl Stabler. Service is 10:00 am, Thursday, September 18, 2014 at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road with calling one hour prior with Rev. Greg Hiatt officiating. Calling also Wednesday, September 17, 2014 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
