Terry Lee Towell, 60, of Temple, Texas, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, after a battle with brain cancer. He was born on February 15, 1965, in Burbank, California, to Donald Ray Towell Sr. and Loraine Katherine (Powers) Towell.
He earned GEDs in multiple states and went on to enlist in the United States Army. During his service, he was awarded the Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, and other commendations in recognition of his dedication and commitment to his country.
Terry met the love of his life, Deborah Yvonne (Guevara) Towell, and they were married at Eastside Baptist Church in Copperas Cove, Texas, on July 2, 1988. He was a devoted husband and a hardworking father, remembered for his kindness, dedication, and the love and service he gave to all who knew him.
He was an active member and deacon at Immanuel Baptist Church in Temple, faithfully serving in many areas of ministry. Terry's love for the Lord and for his church was evident in all he did. He owned and operated a real estate appraisal business for nearly 20 years.
Terry is survived by his wife, Deborah Yvonne (Guevara) Towell of Temple, Texas; his son, Zachary Troy Towell and wife Juvia of Temple, Texas; his daughters, Melanie Ruth Towell and Dinah Rose Towell, both of Temple, Texas; and his granddaughter, Angel Towell of Temple, Texas. He is also survived by his siblings: Cindy Garrison-Davis of Houston, Texas; Donald Towell Jr. and wife Cathie of Kingman, Arizona; Penny Melville and husband Tim of Castaic, California; Ronald Towell of Los Angeles, California; and Derrick Powers and wife Nina of Tyler, Texas; as well as several stepsiblings.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his mother, Loraine Katherine (Powers) Towell; his father, Donald Towell Sr.; and his stepfather, Richard "Dick" Powers.
Services for Terry will be held at Immanuel Baptist Church, 1401 W. Central Avenue, Temple, Texas 76502, on October 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Dr. Ron Milne officiating.
