Terry Turpin Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bennie Smith Funeral Homes - Salisbury on Jun. 28, 2023.
Prophetess Dr. Terry Lee Turpin also known as "Terry Lee" and "Pastor Terry" was born on October 15, 1960, in Salisbury, MD to the late Wilbert and Alice Tatem.
Terry graduated from Delmar High School in Delmar, DE. She graduated from Woodbridge Business School and received a certificate from Wor-Wic Community College. Intrigued by how a Pastor broke a word down, she decided to go to Bible College. Terry attended and graduated from Christian World College of Theology with her Master of Ministry Degree in Salisbury, MD. Hearing from the Lord, she went onto get her Doctor of Ministry in Applied Theology from Logos University in Jacksonville, FL. She was also a Board Certified Christian Life Coach thru Forest, VA and is a member of American Association of Christian Counselors.
Her employment included working for Somerset Developmental, Second National Bank, Center 4 Clean Start, the Census, and as an Election Judge. She always wanted to teach, she got the opportunity to teach at Christian World College of Theology and at Spirit Filled Academy Christian School for Leadership both located in Salisbury, MD all while still being employed with the Department of Social Services. She had the privilege to retire from the Department of Social Services in November 2022.
While still living at home with her parents in Delmar, she received the Lord as her personal Savior at her parents' kitchen table with Rev. Benny Hickman. Being a servant, she held different positions in the different churches she attended. Those positions were Pioneers Club leader, Sunday School Teacher (wrote and directed plays), Children's Church Pastor (VBS and other activities with children), Adult Sunday School Teacher, House Prophet, Elder, Christians United for Israel Member, Single's Pastor, Prophetic Team Leader, and Grief Share Leader. She stepped out by faith and in January 2020, started her own ministry, Revealing His Glory Ministries, Inc., a church without walls.
Her servanthood extended outside of the church. On her job, she would give encouragement, prayer, and anything God would have her to do for her co-workers. She also went to assist with the American Red Cross in Mississippi after Katrina with her employer. She would continue to volunteer with the American Red Cross after volunteering for Katrina a while longer. Terry also did prison ministry with Witness International in Salisbury, MD. She joined her daughter volunteering with the Salisbury Headquarters Auxiliary (Fire Department).
In her spare time, Terry enjoyed reading, studying history, shopping, vacationing, being adventurous, and spending time with family and friends. She was known for her fashion, specifically her jewelry and her shoes. When not doing any of those actives, she enjoyed watching the Washington Redskins, Baltimore Orioles, Boston Celtics, Denny Hamlin in Tennis.
Terry leaves her legacy with her daughter, Alicia Turpin, four brothers, Nathaniel Tatem (Maggie), Kirk Tatem (Jerri), Paul Tatem (Elaine), and Michael Tatem. Also, a close friend, Marlo Fontaine. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her sisters Deborah Price and Zeborah Harmon, her brother James Tatem, a great niece Sadie Broughton-Hardy, and a nephew Kevin Tatem.
