Terry Woodhead Obituary

Caldwell - Terry George Woodhead, 80, passed away on June 28, 2024, of natural causes. He was born April 13, 1944, to Albert and Genieve Woodhead. The family was living in Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

They followed Albert and his construction career throughout the Northwest and eventually settled in Gooding, Idaho, where Terry and his brother, Mike, attended elementary and high school. He then went to the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho, and graduated in 1968.

Following his graduation, one of Terry's favorite stories was telling of his summer job dealing dice at Harrah's Club in Lake Tahoe. Then, that fall, being the adventurer he was, he drove his brand-new Ford Mustang to South Dakota for a teaching position in Briton, South Dakota. It was here that he was introduced to Francene Day who was a junior at Northern State College. They had an immediate connection and dated for her remaining two years of college, and then married on June 12, 1969, in Redfield, South Dakota.

Because Terry wanted to get back to his beloved Idaho, they both secured teaching positions in Jerome, Idaho. They were there for three years and their sons, Grant and Todd, were born. After receiving his Master's Degree in Counseling and Rehabilitation, he changed careers and moved to Glenns Ferry, Idaho. He served as Area Manager for the

Mountain Home Office of Vocational Rehabilitation for the State of Idaho. It was at this time that their two daughters, Marnie and Rebecca, were born.

In the spring of 1978, Dave Severn, an old college friend, introduced Terry and Fran to the Amway business. They saw the potential for a bright future, joined forces with Dave, and never looked back. Together they built a successful business, traveled extensively, met lifelong friends, and helped countless others achieve success. They settled in Caldwell, Idaho, where they raised their family for the past 46 years.

Terry's hobbies were bird hunting, fly fishing, traveling, playing cards, and especially, golfing, in his last years. He loved sharing his 40-acre Hagerman ranch with family and friends, where you were always guaranteed a great time and a couple of trout. A devout Catholic, Terry belonged to Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church and served as a volunteer for St. Clair's food pantry.

Terry loved his family, and he loved his Lord and Savior. He leaves a legacy as a good husband, father, grandfather, coach, and friend to many. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Michael. He is survived by his wife, Francene; son, Grant, wife, Nikki, and their children: Adrian, Zion, and daughter, Karoline; son, Todd, wife, Stephanie, and their children: Ava and Carson; daughter, Marnie (Perez), husband, George, and their sons: Seth and Ayden; daughter Chanel and grandson Maddox; and Terry & Fran's special daughter, Becky. He also loved his brother Mike's children: Andrew, wife, Jillian, and their children; and Abby and Daniel, and their children.

Memorial contributions in Terry's honor may be made to Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, St. Clair's food pantry, or a favorite charity.

A rosary recital will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024 at 9:00 am and a memorial mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am, both at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Caldwell. Memories and condolences can be shared at www.flahifffuneralchapel.com

Terry Woodhead was a great coach of mine in Fall 1968... he was a great history teacher and coach. He made an error though as once he told the team I was to tackle any player who missed a tackle...of course I missed one and since Terry could not be called a large man he had to tackle a 5'10" 155lb kid. He was sore for two weeks!!! He will be missed.

Dear Fran and family,

I loved Terry. He had a strong influence over my life as you are all family to me. My childhood memories are a happy reflection of the love Terry and Fran gave me. One of my favorite memories was how excited I was when I saw Terry checking in at the lobby of Sunriver resort. I ran to the counter to surprise him and give him a huge hug. My Dad would shout out across the lobby 'T'! Terry would laugh and yell back 'D'! Memories of swimming with Becky and spending the day with Grant. Dancing at Beckys wedding. All wonderful cherished memories. I am deeply saddened by this loss but please know how deeply and truly loved your family is. We are praying for you during this heeling and I find joy knowing that Terry, Dad, and Mom are all in heaven together. God bless you all.
