Upon meeting him for the first time I was quite frightened. He said to me “You beautiful woman. I put you on my website. Merry Christmas. I love you. This taught me so never judge a book by the cover. A man that suffered a lot of pain. My life was enriched by knowing him.

The Iron Sheik was an incredible man. He accomplished more than ten men, in a life time. Though he had some bumps in the road, he changed, overcame adversity, personal tragedy, loss and continued on the path of sucess. God Bless him and his family. May God comfort you (ALL) in this trying time. He was a blessing to thousands. Long live the Iron Sheik! God Bless...:)

I'm saddened to hear that the Iron Sheik has passed away. I first saw the sheik wrestle for Georgia Championship wrestling back in early 1983 when he teamed with Ivan Koloff and he was managed by Paul Ellering. I saw a lot of the sheik's matches through the years and he was a suberb heel wrestler. I love the chants he did like " IRAN NUMBER ONE" that of course was my favorite. I had a chance to meet the sheik in person in 1999 at a Marlboro NJ family fun day event and also had my picture taken with him. I later saw him in person at a National Wrestling Superstars card in Bricktown NJ in 2006. He was a great WWE champion even though he had a very short reign and his tag team championship he had with Nikoali Volkoff. The Iron Sheik will be deeply missed by us all. My deepest condolences goes to his family!

The Iron Sheik. One of the greatest wrestling heels of all time. A "pillar" of the WWF. I grew up watching wrestling as an escape from the reality of my life. I watched not just the WWF, but all the territories. I so enjoyed the Sheik promos with "Gene Mean"! The wrestlers I have watched were my hero's, modern gladiators, and characters that I pretended to be when wrestling with childhood friends. I watched the documentary the Sheik and it gave me a reality check. When you watch these performers on television you don't realize the sacrifice they make everyday. They perform injured, they miss time with their family, have the same stress and worries that we all have. To watch the Sheik documentary and see him persevere should inspire all of us that not only is the American dream still alive, but that the Sheik showed that in the end it is not about matches won, championships, or money, but family. He had skill in the ring, on the mic, and deserves credit for making Hulkamania! Deepest condolences to his entire family! I know his story and legacy will continue to inspire!
