Theda Watson Grimes was born on September 22, 1940, in Blackwell, Oklahoma. She moved to Texas when she was seven years old. She passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026, in Houston, Texas. She departed this life with her beloved daughter, Tonya Watson, at her side marking the end of a remarkable journey.
She is survived by her devoted daughter Tonya Watson, who she lived with the last 6 years. Tonya remained a steadfast presence throughout her final days.
Preceded in death by her son Tracy Watson; her mom and dad, Weldon, and Lois Schnurr; her brother Gerald Schnurr; Several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Theda enjoyed back in her younger years sewing twirling costumes, Barbie doll clothes, wedding dresses and every day clothes. She loved canning vegetables from her garden. Also enjoyed working in her flower beds. She was an awesome cook. Her passing marks a significant loss, yet it also offers an opportunity to celebrate a life.
