Thelma Louise Firman

THELMA LOUISE FIRMAN, 82, of Weirton, WV, passed Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Serra Manor, Weirton. She was born March 29, 1943 in Steubenville, OH, daughter of the late Wayne and Laura Walter Gorrell. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, David A. Firman, Sr. (Sept. 2022); son, Russell Wayne Firman (Dec. 1997); brother, Sonny Gorrell; and sister, Kaye Yeager.

Thelma graduated from Steubenville High School and was a member of the former Resurrection Lutheran Church in Weirton. She worked in the offices of Weirton Steel Corporation prior to her marriage to David on June 20, 1966. She worked for many years as a Librarian at Mary H. Weir Public Library in Weirton. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting and reading the bible.

She is survived by her sons, David A. Firman, Jr. (Amanda) of Phoenix, AZ, and Steven D. Firman (Kelly) of New Cumberland, WV; grandchildren, Caitlyn, Kristen, David III, Paige, Nolan, and Camden; and 3 great grandchildren.

Visitation will take place Friday, July 25, from 11:00AM until time of service at 1:00PM, at Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV, with Rev. Larry Barkley presiding. Interment will take place at Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, Florence, PA.
