A Mass of Christian Burial for Thelma Lorine (Summers) Langwasser, 90, of Heath, will be held at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, March 3, 2026, with Fr. Tony Dinovo as celebrant. Interment will follow in Fairmount Cemetery.

Thelma died at SharonBrooke Senior Living on Friday, February 27, 2026. She was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, on May 9, 1935, to the late John H. and Annie (York) Summers.

Thelma attended Central Ohio Technical College, where she received an Associate's degree in Business, and went on to become the office manager at John Hinderer Honda. She was very artistic and enjoyed woodcarving, sewing, quilting, and membership in a quilt club. A former member of St. Leonard Church, Thelma was devoted to in-home communion and serving the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry.

Thelma will be deeply missed by her children, Richard (Diane) Langwasser, Jr., Mary (Steve) Sech, Patricia "Patty" (Gary) Childers, Mike (Taryn) Langwasser, Bill (Diann) Langwasser, Joe (Liliane) Langwasser, and Susan (Jacob) Miller; 20 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and her brother, James (Cornelia) Summers.

In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her son, Stephen; grandson, Gary Dean Childers Jr.; and siblings, John Summers, Herbert Summers, Richard Summers, and Loretta McGuire.

Friends and family may call at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 5-7 P.M., Monday, March 2, 2026, with a Vigil Service to be held at 6:30 p.m.

Memorials in Thelma's name can be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Center, 135 Wilson Street,  Newark,  Ohio,  43055.
