Thelma M. Newton, age 91, of Fairborn, Ohio, passed away on October 22, 2025 in Centerville, Ohio. Thelma was born in Estill County, Kentucky on November 24, 1933 to the late Donald and Maggie Shiflet of Dayton, Ohio.
Thelma and her husband, Lohris Newton, moved from Dayton, Ohio to Beavercreek in 1963 and were long time residents. She worked as a secretary and in sales for several department stores.
She was an, avid gardener, a skilled oil painting artist, and enjoyed sewing and going on adventures.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Lohris Newton, and son, Mitchell Newton, both of Beavercreek, Ohio.
She is survived by daughter, Sheri (Mike) Neely of Evans, Georgia, and son, Kenneth (Linda) Newton, of Beavercreek. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Jennifer (Joshua) Huff of Xenia, Ross (Perla) Newton of Beavercreek, William Neely (Mary) of Bee Cave, Texas, Nicholas Newton of Beavercreek,and Olivia Neely of Evans, Georgia. She was the great-grandmother of three.
Services will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens of Irvine, Kentucky at a future date.
