Thelma Romero Obituary
A graveside service for Thelma Strickland Romero, 77, will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at Hopewell Cemetery in Gilmer, Texas. A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Officiating the service will be Pastor Tommy Brasher.
Thelma was born on August 17, 1948 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Patrick and Maudie Strickland and passed away on August 29, 2025 in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Thelma is preceded in death by her parents; son, Bobby Nichols; granddaughter, Sumer Nichols; and nine siblings. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Rutilo Romero; son, James Nichols; daughters, Angel Carter and husband, Allen, Sharie Troquille, and Glenda Troquille; stepson, Jesus Romero; granddaughters, Tiffany Green, Raven Garza, Aleah White, Kayla Alderete, Zoe Camacho, Emile Venn; grandsons, Dawlton Gowan, Coleman Johnson, Bobby Nichols, Jr., Drayk Taylor; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; her twin sister, Velma, and her sisters, Becky and Marie.
Honoring Thelma as pallbearers will be Allen Carter, Drayk Taylor, Kirk Moore, Kirk Moore, Jr., Lorne Edge, and Charles Moore. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Tooterbil (Trey).
The family suggests memorials may be made to Holy Angels, 10450 Ellerbe Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana 71106-7712.
