Thelma Stanforth passed away Friday, April 4, 2025, peacefully with her family and friends by her side.
She was born on February 13, 1965, to Pantaleon (Tito) Granado and Marcela Gonzales. She was a graduate of Roy Miller High School and was and attended The University of Phoenix where she earned a degree in accounting.
In 1985, Thelma met the love of her life, Edward Stanforth, and the two were married on December 19, 1989. Together, they embarked on a journey that took them around the world, beginning with Bolivia, where Edward was assigned for work. Their travels continued to Colombia, where Thelma worked at the American Embassy. Next, they were stationed in Thailand, where she joined the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). After a brief return to Peru, they were reassigned to Washington, D.C. during the COVID-19 pandemic for security reasons, where Thelma continued her work with the DEA. Their most recent assignment brought them to the El Paso sector, where they settled and made a home together.
Thelma is preceded in death by her father Pantaleon Granado, her mother Marcela Granado, brother Daniel Granado and her sister Margie Moreno, San Antonio, Texas. She is survived by her husband Edward Stanforth, of El Paso, Texas, her brother Amado Granado, of
Corpus Christi, Texas and her sister Elida Granado, of Freeport, Texas.
The family would like to thank all of Thelma's friends and members of the DEA EL Paso sector for their unselfish constant consideration and constant companionship to help the family in our time of grief.
Public Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel, 4357 Ocean Dr.
Corpus Christi, Texas 78412, with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening.
Graveside Services will commence at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 14, 2025, in the Living Lord section in Seaside Memorial Park, also located at 4357 Ocean Dr.
