Mrs. Thelma Bernice Sutton-Harrison transitioned peacefully on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Covenant Healthcare–Cooper, at the age of 63. She was born on December 24, 1962, in Thompson, Alabama, to Joe and Rosa Sutton.
At an early age, Thelma relocated to Saginaw, Michigan, from Cleveland, Ohio, in 1972, where she would spend most of her life surrounded by family and loved ones. She was the youngest of fifteen children and carried herself with grace and confidence that set her apart.
A devoted wife and homemaker, Thelma shared 33 loving years of marriage with her beloved husband, Robert Harrison.
Thelma was a member of Mount Nebo Baptist Church, where she served under the leadership of Pastor Willie Hill, Jr. She loved laughter and joy, and treasured spending time with her dear sister Anna Mae in Cleveland. Her generous spirit, warm heart, and unwavering love for her family left an unforgettable mark on all who knew her.
Thelma leaves to cherish her precious memory six sisters; Carrie (Willie) Whitley, Mary (Charles) Helton, Jessie Avery, and Rosa Sutton, all of Saginaw, Michigan; Clara Blackmon of Nashville, Tennessee; and Anna Sutton of Cleveland, Ohio; two aunts, Mary Sutton of Saginaw, Michigan, and Rose Conover of Freehold, New Jersey; two sisters-in-law, Deborah Sutton and Evelyn Sutton of Saginaw, Michigan; beloved godchildren, Jessica Ramerez and Jermaine Surles; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; special nephews, Antwan Sutton and Jeffrey Sutton; and a special friend, Curtis Crenshaw.
