Theodore Fletcher Obituary

Published by CLOSED-Crosby-N. Gray & Co. Funeral Home and Cremation Service on May 5, 2022.
Ted Fletcher, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend passed away suddenly, May 5, 2022. Theodore Aubrey Fletcher was born August 30, 1963 in San Jose, California. He was the fifth of Dave and Ancy Fletcher's six children. Sweet and shy, with big brown eyes and an impish grin, Ted loved every minute of life. Nicknamed Teddy Bear, he attended Walter Hays, Jordan Middle School and Palo Alto High School, excelling in sports. After graduating from the University of Colorado, Boulder, with a degree in Economics, Ted returned to Palo Alto, got married, opened his own business: Art-Craft, and became a father. Ted was a lifelong Palo Alto resident who never missed the opportunity to cheer on his Bay Area sports teams and frequent his favorite local places. He will be remembered for his even temper, generous heart, loyalty and kindness to all! (And his love of the Rolling Stones) He is survived by his wife Linda, son McKinley and daughter Tessa. He was loved deeply by many family members and friends. He will remain in our hearts always. Memorial donations can be made to The Palo Alto Elks or University of Colorado, Boulder. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 25 (1:00 PM) at the First Congregational Church in Palo Alto. Reception to follow A Celebration of Life will be held the same afternoon at Fred's in Mountain View. (4:30 PM).

Linda, McKinley and Tessa, We are thinking of you. What a kind and special man we lost in our community. Ted and your family are part of many of our happy memories at Addison, the mighty Mariners baseball (I think it was t-ball) team, and our neighborhood community. We remember Ted and his friendly smile, always asking how you were doing, and his warm and kind way. Before the Addison years, when Ted and I were at Paly, I remember Ted in the same way - outgoing in his quiet way and nice. His presence will be missed by many. We hope that the support, love and memories from many friends and family, will provide comfort to you at this difficult time. We are here for you - right down street - and send lots of love. Abbie, Dan, Davis and Elana

Ted was a very sweet guy with a big smile I will always remember as a classmate as early as Walter Hayes. I remember him impishly smiling down at us from the roof of a house located across the alley from where I lived on Kellogg and Middlefield as I was visiting neighbors. My condolences to his family. Linda, McKinley and Tessa, I am so sorry for your loss. We all go way back and I feel like we all grew up together. Ted was one in a million. I loved so much about him: his sense of humor, his love of The Rolling Stones, his playful competitiveness, his wonderful wife and kids! He built a life he loved and surrounded himself with great folks. He was so blessed to have such loving family and friends, and so many happy times throughout his life. A special man, gone too soon. My thoughts are with you.
