Theodore Parries Obituary
Theodore was preceded in death by his parents, Nathaniel Parries (2017) and L. Marguerite Parries (2021) and a sister, Diane Vaughn (1999).
He is survived by his daughter, Shatoyia Hatchett; grandson, Julian Hatchett; siblings, Lawrence Parries, Karen Tate, Cheryl Copeland, Nicholas Parries (Deborah), Carleton Parries, Natalie Avery and Camille Scott; his loving supportive partner, Dorothy Taylor; longtime friend, Marjorie Marshall, and a host of family and friends.
Visitation: 11:30am-12:30pm Friday, January 9, 2026 at A. D. Porter & Sons Funeral Home, 1300 W. Chestnut St., burial in Ky Veterans Cemetery.

My condolences to his family; especially his daughter and grandson. I am a 50 year friend. We were neighbors when I was 14. He helped me with everything. He taught my son to drive a stick, my house has his hands all over it. He stayed with my mom to give me a break. I am in shock. I was out of town. He will remain in my heart. I just found out today a month later

Michael
We weren't always very close
You were the "big brother"
You had an infectious personality.
You tended to see the world differently.
You were the first to call me "author."
You were working on that title yourself.
You were just weeks away from publishing.
Many found you unfiltered and unpredictable
As did I.
But one last conversation between us two
Would have been nice just because
I'd get to say "How are you doing?"
And you would go off into
The Wild Blue Yonder.
But you would still be here
Living your life on your own terms.
I beg of you, don't hesitate.
No day is promised.
If you have something to say to someone

To my brother's family and friends, may God grant you the peace that surpasses all understanding as you grieve the loss of Michael. He lived his life exactly the way he wanted to and had plans for the near future. I will miss his laugh out loud personality when he was tickled about something. So opinionated about everything, I pray he is now at peace.
